EE @ Insomnia
The activation for EE at Insomnia was delivered in two distinct parts, one focussing on the core of the esports audience and the other pushing wider to all gamers on the show floor.
First, the Valorant Women's Cup delivered by XL Studio on behalf of EE took place at Insomnia Gaming Festival in the NEC Arena, Birmingham. The first women-only tournament held at the festival ever, it proved to be a resounding success, showcasing the talent of some of the nation's top emerging players.
The tournament was held on the main stage and featured a £10,000 prize pool. Showcasing EE's commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive gaming community. In addition to a great opportunity to promote and support women in gaming. The final two games of the tournament were co-hosted by GiantX content creator and Valorant player, Jupi on i71’s main stage.
XL Studio managed the tournament admin, marketing efforts, partnership negotiation with Insomnia and execution in line with the event organizers.
Second, XL Studio developed the EE stand at Insomnia to provide attendees with multiple touchpoints. Creating a premium interactive space that subversively informed.
The activation showcased the programme, promoted service sign-ups and provided attendees a keepsake in the form of Valorant-themed trading cards. The carefully constructed vibrant stand included a charging station and a QR code to find out more and sign-up for EE’s service.
The primary stand mechanism had attendees create customisable trading cards by having their picture taken, choosing their favourite design, before selecting their role, abilities and name. Each card was printed and handed over on-site. Each being unique, and attendees had a chance to obtain an extremely rare foil variant card building activation retention.
Cosplayer and GiantX influencers were in attendance maintaining a constant flurry of activity setting it apart on the show floor.
